“India” is a country known for it’s spices and diversity of cultures & people in different parts of the country. This diversity is not only limited to humans, but also to wildlife found here. You may actually not believe this but there are a total of 1350+ known species of birds found in India. Here the feathers of birds have all the known colors, and beaks of all kinds. Few of these species are tourists here and come to India during some specific seasons only. These birds travel across half the world just to spend few weeks here in India.
If you are a bird lover or if you simply want to enjoy the locations and atmosphere like these birds do, then you must miss a single place that i have listed below. Also, Do respect their habitats and take a nice pair of binoculars else you will regret not taking them.

1. Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary, Karnataka


This bird watching site stand amongst the few best places for it’s location and variety of bird’s that are found here. This place has it’s own unique way for bird seeing. Here boats are provided, that take you very close to the birds and hence admired the most by bird lovers. This sanctuary is on the banks of river Kaveri and Exotic species of bird’s like spoonbill, woolly necked stork, asian openbill, painted stork, egret, heron, stone plover and many more have their nests here. Around 170 species of birds have made this sanctuary their home.

2. Thattekad Bird Sanctuary, Kerala


It  is barely covering 25 square Km approximately, that is pretty small compared to other bird sanctuary of India, but it has a variety of species of birds to offer. Some birds like cormorant’s jerdon’s nightjar, ceylon frogmouth and many other, are found no where else. A very famous Ornithologist said this sanctuary to be  the richest bird habitat of India.

3. Jim Corbett National Park, Uttarakhand


This park is the largest of any National park of India, and is about 520 Square Km big.  It is situated on the belt of Himalayas and hence a haunted place of tourist’s. Besides birds, you can also enjoy the terrestrial wild-life and a huge variety of plants in this Park. It is one of the oldest parks in the world, and was established in 1936.

4. Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary, Rajasthan


Also famous by the name “Bird Paradise” over the globe. This Sanctuary also stands as a popular destination for bird lovers. You can also find some of very exotic and endangered birds here. There are over a total of 300+ Species of birds here. Cycle rickshaws are available for you in this Sanctuary. You can visit any month of the year and find birds of every color.

5. Nal Sarovar Bird Sanctuary, Gujarat


Not only the birds here, but the location itself is Mesmerizing. Located in Ahmedabad, it has one of the largest wetland Sanctuaries of the world. Over 225 types of birds are recorded by the officials. It’s a delight to watch in months from November to February.
