# Lalu is one of the very few top brass VIP’s in the country who does not know what his actual date of birth is, and follows the information present in his educational documents as in June 11, 1948.


# When he was in college and was pursuing his graduation in political science he was first elected as the president of Patna University Students Union in 1973.


# After completing college Lalu worked as a clerk at the Bihar Veterinary College in Patna till he ran as election candidate for the first time in 1977.
# He is well educated and holds a master degree in political science and an LL. B degree. Was also given the membership rights of the Supreme Court Bar association to practice law but did not pursue it and went for a career in politics instead.


#He won his first Lok Sabha seat at the age of 29, which made him one of the youngest Member of Parliament during that time. His political career has now spanned five decades.
#He has named his eldest daughter Misa, on terms with the Maintenance of Internal Security Act (MISA), a state of emergency in the state of Bihar during which he was jailed for protesting against the controversial act passed, which gave the prime minister of India a whole new set of powers for suppressing disorder.

#He was the chief Minister of Bihar from 1990 to 1997, before he resigned due to charges related to the 940 crore fodder scam. He was also disqualified and deemed ineligible to run for the post of Member of Parliament (MP).
#The World Bank took a note of the work done by him and his party during the 1990s and lauded his efforts on the work done on the economic front for the development strategies implemented by him to take Bihar out of the wilderness.

#After he was arrested on charges related to the fodder scam he made his wife Rabri Devi the chief minister of Bihar. She was illiterate and new to politics and many questioned her capabilities, due to which Lalu faced stiff criticism.

#He is accused to ruling Bihar in a ‘Jungle Raaj’ manner, a state of anarchism where lawlessness prevails and all businesses, politics, growth and development are stunted and corruption takes over.
