For every nation, navy plays an important role. Country like India- has always been protected by many naval heroes. Time to have a look to these heroes who plays an important role in saving our lives, but very few know about them.

1. Cdr Milind Mohan Mokashi




Cdr Milind has always been best in saving people’s life. He has also been awarded the Shaurya Chakra for showing his outstanding efforts in rescuing many Indian and Foreign nationals from war-raveged yemen in 2015 during operation Rahat.

2. Captain Pradeep Singh




Captain Pradeep Singh is the beneficiary of the Nao Sena Medal for Gallantry for his detailed planning in the most daring project in Operation Rahat in 2015. He rescued around 600 people from around 18 countries during that period.

3. Vice Admiral Krishnan


In the war with Pakistan in 1971, Vice Admiral Krishna  used a highly creative plan as he was very much concerned about India’s one of the most formidable carriers.

4. Captain Rajesh Dhankhar



Captain Rajesh Dhankhar also received the Nao Sena Medal for Gallantry for saving more than 100 lives during operation Rahat in 2015. In spite of knowing about the dangerous scenario of the ashore he didn’t think even once about their lives and sent their army from front to fight hard even during dark hours.

5. Second Officer Kalyani Sen


Second officer Kalyani Sen was the first Indian service women who visited the UK. She was there to have a look on the comparative study of training and administration in the Women’s Royal Naval Service. Though women’s weren’t allowed to board on ships, still they had a role n navy.

6.Captain Mahendra Nath Mulla


Captain Mahendra Nath Mulla was the first captain of independent India’s navy to go down in Arabian Sea after being torpedoed by Pakistani Submarine along with 18 captains and 176 sailors.

7.Kunhali Marakkar


In the Zamorin’s naval war with the Portugese from 1502 to 1600, there were four major Kunhali’s, among them Kunhali Marakkar was the most famous one. They were credited for the for the first naval defence organised in the Indian Coast.

8.Rear Admiral Rishi Raj Sood


When INS Khukri got attacked badly by the enemy submarine, Commander Sood ran to the ship and countered attack on the enemy submarine. His attack was so powerful and he conducted it so fiercely that the enemy had to give up.

9. Commodore Babru Bhan Yadav


He was the first one to receive Maha vir chakra in 1972. In the year 1971 in The Bangladesh Liberation War, he led a great missile attack against Pakistan’s port city, Karachi.
